{"id":5365,"date":"2019-03-12T11:06:01","date_gmt":"2019-03-12T15:06:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/systep.cl\/energy-expert-hugh-rudnick-on-smart-meters\/"},"modified":"2019-03-12T11:06:01","modified_gmt":"2019-03-12T15:06:01","slug":"energy-expert-hugh-rudnick-on-smart-meters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/systep.cl\/en\/energy-expert-hugh-rudnick-on-smart-meters\/","title":{"rendered":"Energy expert Hugh Rudnick on smart meters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Source: Radio Infinita<\/p>\n<p>The controversy over the installation of &#8220;smart&#8221; light meters was analyzed on Tuesday by Hugh Rudnick, Director of SystepChile, an academic at the Catholic University and elected member of the U.S. Academy of Engineering.<\/p>\n<p>The expert reviewed the changes in household consumption habits that would result from the installation of the new meters.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There is going to be a need to face a series of uncertainties at the distribution network level,&#8221; said the expert, who added that &#8220;the idea of incorporating intelligence into the network&#8221; seems very interesting, where one of the main elements is the smart meter.<\/p>\n<p>However, Rudnick added: &#8220;I am supposedly going to be able to respond to price variations in the system in the market that could lead to a lower tariff.
