The Systep Team is pleased to present the Monthly Report of the Chilean Electricity Sector (in Spanish).

This edition of the Report addresses the impact of undergrounding distribution networks on the tariff for regulated customers. The current configuration of the distribution network of the main urban area was compared with three different configurations, combining aerial and underground installations. The results show that even though investment cost rises significantly, the impact on the final tariff for clients remains bounded; therefore, underground network design could be considered as a feasible alternative for distribution development, considering the current regulatory framework.
