The Systep Team is pleased to present the Chilean Electricity Sector Monthly Report.

The December editorial is entitled “Tenders 2025/01 and 2025/02: Successful processes, but at what cost? “. It reviews the two supply tenders for regulated customers carried out this year, which seek to address the risk of regulated energy outsourcing for the next five years. The novelties of both processes with respect to previous bids are analyzed, such as the terms, the geographic blocks tendered, the new guarantees required from bidders, the adjustment mechanism of the contracted price of Bid 2025/02, among others. The results are also analyzed from a critical point of view, taking them to an adequate basis for comparison with other processes. Finally, the underlying reasons that could be causing the chain of early termination of contracts from previous bids, as well as ways of dealing with future bids, so that similar problems do not occur again in future processes, are discussed in depth.

In addition, the Report and electricity sector statistics are available for download in Excel format from our statistics web portal. Through this measure, we seek to facilitate the community’s access to information related to the electricity sector, for which we compile and organize the most relevant SEN data on a monthly basis:

Analysis of the operation.
Systep 12-months spot price forecast.
Summary by companies.
Auction prices.
Non-Conventional Renewable Energies.
Regulatory monitoring.
Projects in Environmental Impact Assessment.

We hope that this Report will be a contribution to the electricity industry. It is distributed on a monthly basis.
