The Systep Team is pleased to present the Monthly Report of the Chilean Electricity Sector (in Spanish).

This edition of the Report analyzes the challenges to the system related to the intermittent renewable generation, considering the increase of this kind of generation in the Chilean energy mix. Particularly, the current response of thermal units is reviewed and the future operation of these units, under a hypothetical scenario for 2018, is analyzed, considering a period of three months between the SIC-SING interconnection and operation of the Interchile 500kV transmission line.

We expect that this report will be a contribution to the electricity industry, where we also review the following information:
