The Systep Team is pleased to present the Monthly Report of the Chilean Electricity Sector (in Spanish).

In this edition of the report, the effect of Argentine natural gas imports in the Chilean electricity sector is discussed. A historical context of relevant events between 1997 and 2005, along with the aftermath of the Argentine crisis is made, particularly by reviewing the installed capacity of LNG and the participation of this very technology in electricity generation. In addition, comments are made on Argentine gas and export expectations for Chile. Finally, the impact in terms of dispatch and merit order is assessed, exploring how this situation represents an opportunity for the electricity sector.
