The Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering invited Professor Alejandro Navarro Espinosa to teach the course “Electric Vehicles in the Context of Smart Cities”, within the framework of the International Summer School.

Professor Navarro holds a degree in Industrial Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and a Master’s degree in Power Systems and a PhD in Energy from the University of Manchester (England). He has extensive experience as a researcher and consultant in the electricity sector.

He currently works as an expert consultant at Systep Ingeniería y Diseños and as a senior researcher at the Energy Center of the University of Chile. His main lines of research are the impact of low carbon technologies on distribution systems, distributed generation, electric vehicles and electrification of heat, smart grids and distribution system planning and resilience of electric power systems.
